New Pictures

I haven't taken a whole lot of photos since I moved to New York but I did take a few. I uploaded 4 more pictures in "The East Side" and 7 pictures in "Florida".

Of New York I took a picture of:

  • Times Square (typical traditional photo)
  • The L stop to Brooklyn
    • I love Brooklyn, I'll probably end of moving there. Although I really like Chinatown and the east village too.
  • Diana
    • Yes, a picture of Diana. Well, not quite. She's on the phone and you can only see her back and hair. I know you guys are all dying to see who this girl is (Umm.. I had pictures of her on my website for about 2 months). When I get back to New York I will setup an ambush and take a picture of her. sssshhhh don't tell her.
  • Manhattan Skyline
    • The view from Diana's living room/kitchen windows

I took a few pictures on my drive down to Florida, too. Lately I haven't been in a "photo-taking" mood so I've been leaving my camera in the car or at the house.

Ok I have to get back to applying for jobs.

Badge?!? I don't need no stinkin' badge!

This is what I looked like on my hire date. I was the only person wearing a tie that day. Oh ya this is my badge photo (I would get in trouble if I posted a picture of my badge)

Class Pics

I just noticed that there are a ton of pictures up in the class pics area (on the main menu above). I'm not quite sure who uploaded them or who took them but they are all really good pics. Marseille was a?wonderful experience and I'm glad that we have a place to share photos.

Pictures Pictures Pictures

I am uploading a ton of pictures, 246 to be exact. The pictures are from Barcelona, Madrid, Salamanca and Paris. The majority of the pictures are from within the Louvre, although I have some really good pictures of the four of us kicking back in Madrid. Check out the album labeled "Plaza Mayor" within the Madrid album; good times.

Pictures

I uploaded a bunch of pictures today, Paris, Normandy, Marseille and all of the little side trips that I have been taking along the way are now up on the site.
I also uploaded the pictures from my graduation party

Photos and updates

Again it has been quite some time since I last posted anything to this blog, so here come the updates (in Order, oldest to newest).

Chris Graduated!!!

A while back chris graduated from his training at the State prison, he is now an official Prison Guard and can officially kick your butt. Although he may look tough in his uniform he ain't that tough later that day I pinned him with one armed tied behind my back. He's such a wuss.

MY Birthday!!!

Honest I had a birthday and Tina threw me a surprise birthday party. Heck up until all these people starting pouring into the house i didn't even know I had a birthday coming. Well OK, I did. Tina got me tickets to see Primus, my sister bought me travel gear and a new backpack and my parents hooked me up with a REI gift certificate which I have already used! ;)

Whitewater River Rafting

Yet another trip with the Outdoor program at Portland State University. This time I went on a whitewater rafting trip. It was a half day trip down the Clackamas river in Oregon, which is a mild timid river. The trip was so-so, not because of the trip leader but rather because of the tameness of the river. I've seen bigger rapids in my bathtub, ok not really but still. OH and just to freak my mom out, when we hit one of the rapids myself and another guy fell out of the boat. Him and I had to float through the rapids with just our lifejackets and a helmet to protect us. I'm pretty sure the other guy didn't enjoy that part but except for hitting my booty on a rock, I Loved IT!!!  Next time I'm forgetting the boat and just using my life jacket to hit the rapids, so much fun!

Spring Wedding

My cousin has met the man of her dreams and she married him. The ceremony was held this last friday and it was rather nice. Her new husband seems like a great guy and I am sure that they will lead a long and happy life together.

I'm in Israel!!

A friend of mine sent me a link to this new story. He asked what I was doing over there...

(It's weird, but it actually looks like me... hhmmm..... maybe it is..)

Picture time...

I woke up today at 9am so that I could take pictures of Jennifer and Kylie and they finished running the Portland Shamrock run (crazy freaks). Their pictures are posted here. Since I had the camera on me for the rest of the day I decided to take other pictures too, they are also posted in the same place.

Climbing, Gavin and OMSI

In the mail today I finally received the XS-Drive I order several weeks ago!!! This thing is a very simple super cool device. In essense it is a laptop hard drive combined with a memory card reader. You put a memory card in the slot hit the copy button and within a minute or two the data from the card is copied to the hard drive. isn't that cool!! Well the entire reason I bought it was for my trip to Europe this summer. I am not bringing my laptop with me because it is just too heavy, the xs-drive weighs just a tad over 10 ounces and can store several thousand digital photographs at full resolution (40 gigs worth when I put my laptop hard drive in it).

You are probably wondering where this picture came from though. Well, I purchased the XS-drive very cheap ($50) because it did not have a hard drive and I just happened to have a spare laptop hard drive laying around my room. When I put the hard drive in the XS-Drive I found several forgotten photos on that spare hard drive. This was one of them.

I posted the others in my gallery under family and friends, the pictures are from several years ago when my best friend, Chris, and his son, Gavin, came to Oregon; we went to OMSI.

Other Happenings:

  • I fixed my bike (new pedals)
  • I made a small dent in my homework pile.
  • My Pepsi I-Tunes mp3 win count is up to 3 (I still need your help in choosing)

Last Night...

Last night, against my will and unwilling persuaded by Jenson, I went to a party at Laurie's house. I must admit that it was a good way to get my mind off of my studies for a bit and that I did have a good time. Laurie and her roommate (Avie, sp?) like to have "theme" parties instead of the normal run of the mill "everyone come and drink" parties. Last night's theme was "Lie to Everyone", which meant that everyone had to be someone other than themselves; i.e. your friend, a neighbour, a celebrity, etc. I decided to lie to everyone and be a catholic priest (notice the white collar). In reality it was just a way for me to wear my cool red lounge jacket (it's dang cool, ain't it).

We arrived at the party around 10pm and left around 2am.

I think that fours hours removed from my homework is decent and didn't set me back that much. In reality I am making up for it today but I still feel that it was worth it, I can live with the consequences of my actions*. Jenson, however, may not be so happy about the consequences. That boy drank so much that he has to be hurting today. Admittedly I did have a few drinks myself but I have never been a big drinker so I was nowhere near the spin zone. Jenson on the other hand was riding the circus cups all night.

Overall the party was a good time. I got to meet several really cool people and I married about 4 or 5 couples throughout the night (remember I was a catholic priest). The breakdown was 3 standard male-female relationships, 1 male-female-female relationship and a same sex marriage (we relocated to San Francisco for that one).

Now I must get back to my homework. I have a huge auditing research paper coming due, a second midterm on tuesday, several chapters of homework due in econometrics and a few group projects. All are due this week. If you don't hear my sweet sweet voice for a few days now you know why, I'm going to be a busy busy man this week.
Pictures from the night are here http://wiredgeek.com/v/familyandfriends/lies/

By the way, today's song is
Artist: Sebadoh
Song: Magnet's Coil

*by consequences, I mean the consequences of neglecting my homework not of any "bad" actions.
